Second flask ready for burnout

Second flask ready for burnout

Here the flask has been attached to the base and has been filled with investment. The wax bracelet half is inside. After a time the flask will be placed in the oven and heated slowly to approximately 1350 degrees F. During this process the wax will be melted away leaving an exact impression in the plaster like investment material. After some hours the oven is lowered to casting temp and molten sterling silver is poured into the flask while under vacuum. The molten silver fills the impression left by the wax.
